Apple - Thoughts on Music

Steve Jobs has some thoughts to share. I applaud Apple for taking this bold step in openly asking the record companies to license their music DRM-free.

Now, lets see if they bite!

I, for one, have not been very tempted to buy any tracks from the iTunes music store because of the FairPlay DRM. On the other hand, a site like AllOfMp3.com has been very appealing just because of the DRM-free files it lets you download.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out..

A flashback to "Bad"

I just came across This article from Sep. 14, 1987 at Time.com. It was written at the time Michael Jackson was about to release "Bad", his follow up to the best-selling "Thriller". It's an interesting read if you've ever been a fan of MJ. I was a big fan, still love his songs. Anyways, the writer Jay Cocks (he's gotta be in contention for the next Meet The Parents sequel!) seemed to have had his finger on the pulse of MJ's public persona and life. Check it out.

Also, Time is running a piece about the all-time 100 music albums, which was an interesting read for me.
